Calvin Liang is an architectural designer and critic currently based between Basel, Switzerland, and Phoenix, Arizona.


He holds a Masters of Architecture degree from Yale University, and a Bachelors of Arts in Architecture from Columbia University. His design and written work has been publicized in Retrospecta, Perspecta, Paprika!, and other publications.

He currently works at Christ & Gantenbein Architekten in Basel, Switzerland, having previously worked at the Yale Urban Design Workshop in New Haven, Connecticut and Junya Ishigami + Associates in Tokyo, Japan. He has worked on several award-winning projects and competitions, notably winning the Kunstmuseum Basel renovation competition with Christ & Gantenbein Architekten and the Art Biotop Water Garden with Junya Ishigami + Associates.

He also has extensive teaching experience, having co-taught several design studio and seminar courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels at both Columbia and Yale Universities.
